ufo sighting

last night 20/10/07 at about 7.55pm , at back of my home on my second floor of my home in full clear view of the evening sky, small stars l noitce. What got me to open my window was l heard what sounded like a firework going of by the boundry wall of the large open area, of building of the fromer hosptail behind my home. Did not see anyone but much to my pure shock was a my my eye sight was very bright white light just hovering above close enough for me to taken aback from what l saw.
about 2mins l was looking up and what i still having trouble getting my head round is how it just moved west, as the light on the ufo went out and then compelte black and disapeared.
