Although this happened a while ago, i thought i should still report it.
Date: June 22 2003, 12:30am
Country: Canada, Ontario, Thunder Bay
Shape: Bright glowing round dots
Altitude: Above orbit
Visibility and conditions: There were no clouds at all in the are or fog. There was excellent visability and a clear crisp view of the night sky.
Speed: Very fast, covering great distances in seconds.
Description: While watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites, one bright circular dot started flying across the night sky. At first my cousin and i thought is was a meteor. As it flew through the sky though, it split off into approximatly 6 more glowing circles. These were not meteors or satellites as they continued to travel through the sky then they stopped. They then maneuvered into a circular formation which flew throught the sky. They then moved into a "V" formation and travelled further until they dissappeared over the horizon. The entire encounter was approximatly 20min.
I was hesitant about reporting this incident as neither my cousin or myself were sure if what we had seen was real or if we had just hallucinated it. However, last week while talking to my friend, the topic came up in the conversation and it was confirmed that him and his froup had seen the same lights.
