It was a mild evening in late November. 

I was house sitting for a friend at the seaside community of Mussel Shoals, California. Nestled in between Ventura and Carpinteria, Mussel Shoals is a small community of very pricey homes right on the edge of the Pacific. 

I was on the third floor deck gazing at the sky and the clouds. 

The light and scattered rain showers of the day had blown themselves southward, leaving curious straggling cloud formations, bathed in pink, purple, and shades of grey. 

Something more than just the beauty of the clouds compelled me to go down stairs and grab my new digital camera that I had been playing with for the last couple weeks. 

I took several shots of the sunset on the water, the clouds low against the hills behind the house, just past the freeway. 

For some reason though, I decided to take a few pictures of just the clouds, without any other object in them. 

Later, when I had uploaded the pictures to my PC, I discovered a shape up high in the clouds of the very last picture I took. 

I'm not sure what it is. But I do know that there is no discernable wings (man made or natural) in or on the shape. Nor is there any contrail from jet engines.... 

So, I really don't know what it is.
