back in the winter of 69' in my hometown of yucca valley,california[ around 8 thousand people] myself my girlfriend [susie], and my best friend were walking home from the drive-in movie. after i dropped my girl off, jimmy and i suddenly noticed a large black oval shape over the western hill area. suddenly a bright light appeared from the bottom of this obect and lit up the side of the mountain. then lights began coming on from the houses and we could see the shape better. it was very large and blacker then the night sky, then the light disappeared and the object was gone. this was around 12;30 at night. the next day we eyed the area where the object hooved at and it came at around 1/4 mile long. not only did my friend i see this but over 100 friends at a party up on another hill also saw this. yucca valley is only 30 miles from the 29 palms base.
