The Dreams I've Had

When I was about five years old I remembered having dreams of little visitors in my room which I shared with two brothers. I would get these creepy feelings that I was being watched, and whoever it was knew I wasn't asleep. I would act like I was, but I just knew I wasn't fooling anybody.

The dreams themselves are quite cloudy but I can remember seeing these creatures and trying to shout out, "Help!"  I always tried to protect my brothers, even though I was the middle brother, a trait I still keep to this very day. So, when the morning finally came, I would not tell anyone in the house about my dreams for fear it would give my brothers nightmares.

Being brave is something I think people acquire through actual events rather than just kind of muster up so to speak. So, I then became the great and powerful James who isn't scared of anything. I had these dreams for many years but can't really remember them.

One thing I do remember was when I was about thirteen, I saw a Gumby show called Gumby's Abduction. You all remember Gumby don't you? In this show Gumby is taken aboard a Grey's ship, complete with those scary eyes. And then it hit me! The Gumby show was taped a long time ago, and just maybe I had seen this show at an even younger age than five. And so that would explain why it had to be those terrible Greys.

But what it didn't explain was that my brothers who I never told about the dreams were in fact having dreams of their own. It would seem odd now to me that my little brother Ted we'll call him, always had these frightening nose bleeds, in the morning he would awaken to find his pillow soaked in blood, blood that seemed to have come from his nose. My mother explained that some children have a weakness in the blood vessels of the nose, and don't develop them well until they are grown. I expected that answer as only a five year old can but my brother had another explanation.

It was winter here in Northwest Indiana, and crazy as that might sound to some, I always had these dreams a lot more in the winter. He told me one morning that the little football people did it to him, and my heart fell out of my body! I was much smarter now being all of about seven at the time so, yeah, I knew it all by then LOL! I had asked him to show me what the football people looked like. He spent the rest of the morning drawing these creatures with oblong heads and very narrow chins, and then terror hit - those eyes - the same as my dreams.

I asked if he could remember any of the football dream, he told me he was at school and one of those creatures was watching him from the playground, the next thing he remembered was these creatures became orange in color! Oh, that really freaked me out because in my own dreams these visitors often change the color of the rooms in there ship or whatever and orange seems to be their favorite color these lights are powerful and illuminate everything in the room if that's what you call it. My brother told me they, (the Greys) had shined a bright blue light in his face that just kind of made him lean forward and allow these guys to place a long silvery like car antenna type thing in his nose and that's what really caused all his nose bleeds.

On this particular day my brother came bounding in from his paper route, and saw the artwork my brother drew and said, "That looks like the things living in the hallway mirror!" Now that was just too f***ing crazy because as cloudy as my own dreams were.  This statement by my older brother who we will call Jason rang some truth. Have you ever lost something important to you, and you just can't seem to remember what you did with it? That is until you finally come across it, and wham! you can suddenly remember setting it there? Yes! I know about the mirror that's where they come from - to get me!

These tales of my two brothers really got me curious. Even though these incidents had already been going on a few years now, we were just starting to really talk about them. These days, my family does not believe in UFOs or little men (green or otherwise), I seem to be the only one. My brothers to this very day seem not to remember the experiences too well, and have dismissed them as flights of fancy.

As the years passed I would still sometimes have these funky dreams, but could not for the life of me really remember them. Damn! So now I was in my early twenties and was with my fiancé and we would stay just about anywhere to be together her family didn't care for me much so we would take off on weekend trips to be together. On one of these trips I had developed a really bad earache and had to take her home, now she can't remember this but it is a three or possibly three and a half hour drive from Indy, yet we got home after two in the morning when we left Indy, it was about 9:00 PM. So how weird was that?

Now I had many earaches growing up and always missed out on swimming and other fun summer stuff. But what was really strange was the time I got a bad earache and went to the doctor, my wife at the time was with me when he said to her, "Well, he's got something trapped deep in the ear and needs to see a specialist."  He then let my wife look in my ear.  She told me it was a kind of see through light blue material that looks a lot like a BB you know like you put in a Daisy BB gun?

I had a dream of those dudes coming after me and the next day I had pain deep in my ear. The trippy thing about this was, the night before I was to get the thing removed those damn Greys took it out or something because it wasn't there anymore! The doctor said, "There's nothing there."

We asked if it could have fallen out? His answer was to call the other doctor for that question as he never saw the thing to begin with, so we did just that.  My doctor said, I don't think it could have just fallen out, or I would have washed it out myself.

Now I am 41 and divorced, but have been taking care of my two kids because I have sole custody of them.  My daughter has been having horrible nightmares that she can't remember when she wakes up, but I do sometimes awaken to her crying in her room. I want to help her, but first I need to know what the hell is going on here!

I have too long a story to tell in this letter alone but if I can find others who are going through this I may find some answers.  Please, any kind of help would so much be appreciated. Maybe I can meet with someone who would want to study me for the answers as I now believe these things are happening to my daughter, and that's just wrong!
