In response to: Flashing lights 1998 in Wiltshire, U.K. (Author Censored) 19 January 2002

Dear Sir,

Myself and my wife moved to Sherborne, Dorset (near to Wiltshire) in May 1997 and moved from there in September 1998. During that time we saw the flashing lights mentioned below countless times (estimated between 50-80!). At one point it became so common that we almost stopped taking any notice! It was also seen and commented on by our neighbours, friends and visiting family (totally sceptical towards UFO's). My wife and I also experienced a paranormal phenomenon together during one of the nights when the 'sky flashes' were happening. We both saw a star fall out of the sky and spiral down toward us, almost directly above us. We weren't talking about it, we just both happened to be staring at the same star when it happened! On another occasion we saw an absolutely enormous triangular shaped craft hovering between Sherborne and Yeovil, moving at almost walking pace. At first we thought it was three flashing objects, but on staring at it a while you could make out that it was all part of the same object - meaning the thing was absolutely massive. There were lots of helicopters in the sky at the time as well. This was also seen by other people. We had to go for a drink afterwards - the feeling of this thing was not comfortable at all. The air around us seemed almost charged with electricity - similar to just before a thunder storm. We also perceived large balls of light flying at enormous speed through the sky (again, incredibly common - probably saw them 30-40 times in total). We reported all of these events to the local UFO Group (based in Wells). We both left the area with the following thought - either a) the military are flying some extraordinary new vehicles using some as yet undisclosed technology as propulsion or b) the universe is literally crawling with life!

Yours Sincerely,

LC, Ireland

P.S. - Since all of this, I have become an avid enthusiast and researcher into UFO's, especially here in Ireland, where there is a rich untapped history of encounters, including two alleged crashes/landings in the past few years (one as recently as 2001).
