Quick story, I was in northern Michigan around 1994 when I was on the back porch of my friends cottage looking at the amazing stars you can up there at night. I thought I saw either a satellite or a shooting star but decided otherwise when I realized what had just happened. It was a white light, like a spec or a small star in the sky came shooting across the sky at an amazing speed, which why I thought it was a shooting star, but it didn't leave the vapor trial a star usually does. 

Anyway, it came to an instant halt, stayed for a few seconds then shot across the entire sky canopy almost instantly and was gone. I computed how much distance/space the light had crossed so quickly and knew it was not just a star or satellite. Not sure what it was but I know it is not technology that the public knows of if it is from this planet. I've seen F-15 fly around the sky at an air-base outside of Detroit, but they didn't cover ground like that light did, especially at such a high altitude, this light wasn't low to the ground, it was WAY up in the sky. Anyway, thought you might like to hear about this, wonder if anyone has an explanation of this, maybe it is an astrological event, don't know.
