On August 4th, I was outside on my deck with my camcorder and tripod trying to film and zoom in with my 560X Sony . I got an e-mail stating that mars is at it's closest orbit in the last 5000 years or more. And it will be seen coming up in the east . I zoomed in on it and to my surprise it did not look like mars at all. Instead it looks very much like the underside of a round flying saucer type of craft ? It comes in and out of focus as I manually focus and zoom. I mean you can see some real interesting details of design and what appears to be counter rotating inner rings. I had to use my night shot and super night shot features to see it. After some time it just faded out and reappeared one more time for about 20 seconds. I have shown this to one of my patients who knows a lot about video equipment from working at a TV station in the past. He agreed this was not mars and really looked like a UFO. He did not see any signs of camera distortion of other possibilities to explain it. It blurs in and out of focus because of the distance of the object. But when it clears up it is quite eerie.
