Hello all,

My name is Jared. Something rather unusual happened to me once while meditating. I was focusing on all of the pain I had caused myself. I went through a process of forgiving myself for my human nature and freeing myself of pain through forgiveness and kindness directed at the self. I was slowly letting out this pain I had caused myself because I felt it would be too great to let out all at once. When it seemed that I had let most of it go I felt light and better than you can imagine. I then saw a golden light shining on me from the left side. It appeared to be originating in my closet. I looked at it and it appeared to be some sort of opening but at the same time it appeared to have some kind of life to it. It was shimmering and appeared to open into something bright with a golden kind of light. It did not move when I moved my head so it didn't appear to be any kind of retinal phenomenon. When I thought to myself whether or not I should be afraid it seemed to dim and start to go away. When I focused on having no fear it was brighter.

I don't know if this was an alien or if it was due to freeing thoughts from sorrow but I saw a glowing thing that was pretty cool looking and I haven't seen it since.

I read once in a book called "The Discipline of Freedom" that when thought is free from sorrow it glows. This is an alternate explanation to what I saw. If anyone has any ideas I would be more than happy to hear them. If you have questions as well I'd like to answer them.
