My best friend and I were abducted

I was in the 7th grade back in 2001 in Montgomery, Tx, which was mostly woods then. My best friend had a cat that had had kittens and her mom wanted to dump them in the woods. I knew that if we took them to my house and dumped them my mom would at least take the to an animal shelter. We came up with this plan to sneak through the woods between our houses, and dump them by my house. We put all the cats into a cage and hustled through the woods a little past sunset. It would take us about 15 minutes to get to my house. We were doing fine until we started running through a clearing. All of sudden there was a light all around us. It was so bright I have never seen a light like it. It seemed to come from everywhere. I remember not being able to move, or make a sound. I remember the cats screaming, and going crazy in the cage. Then the light was gone, and we looked at each other and just started running towards my house. We didn't say anything the whole trip there, and back to her house. When we walked in the door, her mom started yelling at us. We had been gone for several hours. It was almost midnight. I remember looking at my friend, and her face paling. We talked later. How were we gone for so long? We had run there and back, and had only stopped in the clearing for what seemed like a few seconds. I asked her what she had experienced. It was the same as my own paralyzing experience. She had also heard the screaming.We're still friends today. No further incidents, but we still about it the one we had. The cats my mom sent to a shelter, so I have no clue what happened with them.
